The Car
Born in Norwood, Ohio. Sold in Scarborough.
This Z28 rolled off the Norwood, Ohio assembly line on February 25th, 1971 — the same Norwood plant where all second-generation Camaros were built Hagerty Valuation Tools — and was originally sold right here in Ontario at Alex Irvine Motors in Scarborough. It’s a car with local roots and legendary bones.
What Makes the Z28 So Special?
The Z28 wasn’t just another Camaro. It was Chevrolet’s purpose-built performance package — featuring the unique 330-horsepower 350 cubic inch V8, heavy-duty sport suspension, power disc brakes, dual exhausts, and special paint stripes Over-Drive Magazine. It was a driver’s car in every sense of the word, and collectors have been chasing them ever since.
Only 4,862 Camaro Z28s were built in 1971 American Muscle Car Museum, making every surviving example a rare find. A restored, numbers-matching car like this one is rarer still.

- Numbers-matching 350 small block, upgraded with modern Holley fuel injection for reliability without sacrificing character
- Turbo 400 automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear axle
- Black cloth interior with centre console and the classic horseshoe shifter that defines the early Z28 cockpit
